Devotion, Shringaram- Love, Prakriti- Nature, Vatsalyam- Motherly love,
Antaradhrishti- Introspection, Kutuhalam- Joy, and Folklore.
The Bhakti
segment of the production highlighted devotion to the Supreme and patriotism.
'Om Sakthi
Om Sakthi Om Parasakti' - Let us pay respects to the Energy of Primordial
Sound and the Goddess of Energy 'Bharata Mata Tirupalli Ezhuchi' Thousands
of devotees have assembled around you, Are you still in slumber, O mother,
please wake up! |

Bharati's
treatment of Shringaram (Love) in his poems was embodied in the short piece
'Suttum Vizhi chudar dhaan kannamma'
(Are
the rays from your pointed eyes, my love, The sun and the moon? Your large
round black eyes, Are they like the dark sky?) and
the Varnam, 'Kannan Mananilayai Tangame Tangam' (Go and find out what is
in Kannan's mind, dear friend).
|
|
Nature
was brought to life in his poems Katru and Mazhai (With all eight directions
scattered, And the mountains in all directions breaking apart, Rain is
flooding everywhere, the entire universe is tilting, And the wind is howling
like ghosts).
|
|
Bharati
wrote often about the antics of Lord Krishna as a toddler and as a teen-
Lasya dancers performed to his 'Theerada Vilayattu Pillai', (Kannan is
a playful and mischievous boy, A complete nuisance to girls on the street).
|
|
Bharati's
frustration with not being able to free his motherland, and his inability
to awaken his countrymen from their ennui was brought out in the pieces
'Nalladhor Veenai Seidhe' and 'Manadhil Urudhi Vendum'.
|
|
The
grand finale of the Lasya production was in two parts, a Thillana set to
the poem 'Kaakai Chiraginile Nandalala', and a folk piece- Kavadi Chindu.
